ABOUT: "In 2015, Arthur Fuchs and Erkan Karakaya fulfilled their long-cherished wish:
their own micro-roastery. The specialty coffees we buy mostly from small farms or cooperatives, i.e. an association of small farmers. We want to support small, traditionally run farms that strive for the best quality of their beans, that care for them and for whom environmental protection and ecological awareness are just as important as they are to us. All our coffees are sustainably grown and fairly traded." ( Source: schvarz.com/ueber-uns/)

For their rebranding, we designed a clean but fun branding with attention to detail. We worked with their existing brand elements: The tried-and-true, distinctive logo design and the use of black and white. We added colors, but kept black and white as the main "colors" of the brand. We kept the essence of the logo, but created a more balanced, rounded version of it.

We created a balance between clean and informative design but also provided space for fun illustrations and pattern to illustrate the love and knowledge the brand has for coffee. When you look closely the illustration is a mix between funny characters but also really specific coffee machines and objects you need to provide the best coffee possible.

For the 100% compostable and sustainable coffee capsules, we added some colors to draw attention to them. For the coffee bags, the client chose a fully recyclable material. However, due to the requirements of coffee packaging, plastic could not be 100% avoided. The colorful label stickers can be easily changed for the different varieties of coffee.
